Welcome to VoteStauber.com

   In 2010, Duluth city government will lack veteran leadership. I am 56 years old, a lifelong Duluth resident, and a senior member of the Duluth City Council, having served eight years in city hall. I am genuinely concerned that in January 2010 we will have:

   Three councilors with no council experience;
   Two senior leadership positions with less than one year in Duluth government;
      -Chief Administrative Officer
      -Chief Financial Officer
   Three senior leadership positions with less than two years in the city;
      -City Attorney
      -City Planner
      -Director of Public Life; and
   Five councilors and a mayor with only two years experience in the job.

   For this reason, I am choosing to commit a third term serving on our City Council.

   I also have unfinished business and projects I would like to continue working on, from the maritime development of the Bayfront area to protecting the residential neighborhoods. As I have for eight years, I will continue my effort to keep a check on run-away taxing, spending, and new fees.

   Elected by my council colleagues four times to be President of the Duluth Economic Development Authority, once as President of the Council and once as Chair of the Finance Committee, I hope to keep my continued leadership, service and talents in city hall.

   Please take a couple of minutes to browse these pages. I could use your help with this campaign. Although votes are the ultimate goal, it takes volunteers and resources to be successful.

Thanks, Jim Stauber
